Adhesive bandage
If adhesive bandage has a solid seal around the tattoo you may keep on up to one week. 3-5 days is recommended.
If the seal breaks or you experience a reaction remove immediately.
To remove adhesive bandage
Pull the film across the skin while holding your skin taut.
Wash your tattoo immediately with clean soap.
Use your hand to gently lather antibacterial soap.
Rinse and pat dry with a paper towel or air dry.
If reapplying adhesive bandage it should be replaced within 24 hrs of getting tattooed, immediately after cleaning and drying.
You may leave the second piece on for up to 6 more days.
Non-adhesive wrap
You can wear the wrap up to 8 hrs.
Remove bandage, wash and dry.
Optional new bandage at least every 8 hours for up to 5 days.
Usually most helpful the first 24hrs or while sleeping.
You may change out bandage as often as 2-3 times a day
New bandage before bed, when you wake up the next day, and if necessary an additional mid day bandage change.
Stop wrapping when you start using moisturizer.
Non-adhesive bandages / Dry healing
Do not leave non-adhesive bandages on longer than 8 hours.
Wash tattoo after bandage removal
Wash a up to few times a day with clean soap
Start moisturizing as needed after 48 hrs.
Moisturizing
Do not moisturize within the first 48 hours after getting tattooed.
By day 3 you can start using a water or oil based moisturizer that is free of alcohol and petroleum.
Check ingredients for allergens.
If it’s new to you, try a test area before applying to your tattoo.
Be sure to clean and dry the area before applying a thin layer of moisturizer. Remove any excess moisturizer.
General
Keep your new tattoo covered for a minimum of two hours.
Do not soak or scrub the bandage or tattoo.
Wait until tattoo is flush with the skin to soak or scrub.
Only adhesive bandages may be worn in the shower.
Be sure not to get any external material in the bandage.
Remove if the seal is compromised or if contaminated.
Avoid high friction, heavy activity, and excessive sweating.
Wear loose-fitting cotton clothing, avoid direct contact with fresh tattoo.
Avoid extreme weather exposure.
